Pancake

The best way to combine professional digital photography with portability currently is the Olympus E-420 using the Zuiko pancake lens. Only slightly bigger than the Canon Powershot G10 (which is the second best alternative) it offers compact design and superb picture quality including live view on a 2.7 in screen.

Nothing but a Dre thing.

In-ear headphones are still one of my favorite things to try out. The latest rocker comes from Dr. Dre and offers heavy bass and excellent sounds if you like listening to Hip Hop, RNB, House and Techno.

Rip it, baby!

The pacemaker goes beyond the iPod. It features a 120 GB hard disk and creates your own mixes. Professional DJ equipment for your pocket.

Hold-Ding

A nice idea if most of your power outlets are occupied and you want to charge your mobile phone or iPod using one of the outlets at the wall. Hold-Ding will hold all the stuff and thus make additional outlets available.

Naim it baby

Another fine peace of audio hardware from naim. The HDX imports all your CDs and saves the MP3 files on a hard disk with 400 GB. So if you are still dealing with CDs and CD covers: throw all the covers away and save the space in your living room. By the way: you can navigate using the colored touch screen or even connect to an external monitor or use your PC to control.
And: it plays/streams music from your home network, too.

TV everywhere (sling sling)

Watch your home TV everywhere: on your PC, on your mobile, in the office. Sounds great? Wouldn’t it be nice to see Football Championships or the Olympics wherever you are? The slingbox broadcasts your home TV (or DVD, video etc) via the internet to any place or device you want.

Holmes and Wattson

Save energy with this cool device that shows (in EURO and Cent) how much energy your household is consuming right now. It is glooming and if your energy consumption goes up or down, the color of the light will change.

P.S.: The thing is called Wattson and the detailed tracking software you get with it is Holmes.

I see where I have been

The Gisteq photo tracker synchronizes with your digicam and will show e.g. in google maps where your pictures were actually taken. See the location of your photos on the globe with google earth or applications like ovolab. This is getting even cooler if you compare the photos that you took with those of other people via flicker.

I see

If you are not a big fan of pictures on your desk, Sony now gives you a reason to re-think your attitude. Place some nice photos you took at far away places on this Bluetooth digital picture frame and you place of work will be more valuable (and you can spent hours just looking at the changing picture without doing any productive work…)

Music maestro, please

I saw the Concertino at the weekend live and also was able to hear and play with it so I decided to post it here, while it was before only part of the comment to the Fat Man (see below). It really is a nice little audio system.

Get analog

You can not always be digital! This book is made in prison (it really is). Put all your thoughts in there. Covered with mattress cloth. When did you write with a pen instead of a keyboard the last time?

Optimus Maximus

The keyboard without any keys but with little displays that can be easily configured. So each key is a stand-alone display that shows the function currently assigned to it. Have a look at the demo.

Stay slim

A small companion which you can take with you wherever you go. I am not happy with my Ixus 75 as it reacts rather slow. The Ixus has a nice 3 inch display and the picture quality is really good. It is simply not the perfect snapshot camera. The very slim and light Exilim Card EX-S10 seems to be the right alternative.

Waterproof

Going on vacation? I like to take my iPod with me but am always a bit worried that it gets too much into contact with sand and sun cream. H2O is offering an interesting solution: the Waterproof case for the iPod. They even have headphone which you can wear while swimming or surfing – cool!

Naim is mine

Considering to buy a new Hi-Fi system for your home (or may be if you are an entrepreneur you may want to put it in your office)? I came across NAIM in the UK and immediately loved it because the sound is simply unbelievable and it also looks cool. Expensive? For sure!

Blue up your life

Who still needs a CD player today in times of MP3 and iTunes? For example, I keep all my old CDs in a Sony CD charger that stores 400 disks. I still use it occasionally, but most of the times I use the iPod. Nevertheless, the Shanling MC-30 really looks cool and I could buy it simply to light my living room. Want more good news: of course you can connect the iPod with it.

The Locator

Always searching your keys or your wallet? I don't - but my wife does. Thought this might help so I bought it: the Loc8or. It seems to work. Actually, we do not need the device for it but suddenly my wife seems to remember where she put her stuff. Some kind of magic...

Pretty in pink

What goes best with the Fat Man? The iPod in pink. Unfortunately, I can not afford to buy it. Not because it is so expensive, but because the acceptance in our household would be zero - we have 3 iPods (1st generation, shuffle, nano) already.

Mad man - fat stuff

On the road with the mad man we got stuck at Manchester airport - flight delayed on a Friday evening when we wanted to get home to friends and family. So I bought this UK magazine ("stuff") with a barely dressed lady on the cover and everyone though it was a "magazine" but actually it contains nice tech stuff so I came across this must have for my iPod.

First stuff

Traveling a lot in the beginning of 2008 opened my mind for a few things that did not came into my mind for a while since I married and got children: gadgets and all that other stuff that you feel you need once you see it or hold it in your hands. I' talking about the mac book airs of this world if you know what I mean.

So here it is: the first entry in this blog. The thing you need to have. The mac book air.
